Opioid Crisis

The opioid crisis continues to ravage our families and strain our communities. Progress in decreasing opioid related incidents and deaths on the Cape has been all but erased during the pandemic. Understanding opioid use as a mental and behavioral health disorder, my office prioritizes expansion of access to treatment through in-patient care, outside counseling, and holistic community-based recovery support. During my 2022 campaign, I pledged to make substance use disorders a priority of my office. As District Attorney, I have worked with the Courts to establish a Recovery Court on Martha's Vineyard and recognize that much work still needs to be done.t
